Rated 4 out of 5 by from First time using TurboTax TurboTax itself seemed to work well. A few gray areas when trying to figure out if I needed to input certain information, but overall pretty easy. And much cheaper than the accountant I've used for the past 15 years. 2 Big Buts: 1) Unable to file electronically due to an "IND-525" error, which TT says is on the IRS end of things. But I've filed eletronically for the past 10 years at least through the accountant without troubles. So now I have to mail a huge stack of paper in. 2) I would NOT pay for the online "Expert" again - none of the 3 I talked to could help me with my question. The first two were only App technicians who knew no tax details. The third actual "expert" had "35 years of tax filing experience" yet could not answer my question. It wasn't a particularly tricky one. His eventual solution (the next day in an email) was to send me the 8 pages of IRS code that dealt with the area of interest. I'm using TurboTax because I don't have time or energy to read the tax code. So, I'll use TurboTax again next year, but will not pay for the Expert Help.
