Rated 1 out of 5 by from Deceptive Deceptive. I understood I was paying to file my state and federal taxes electronically and to have my return automatically deposited into my account. I was asked whether I wanted to pay for this via credit card or to have it deducted from my return. Nowhere was it stated at this point that paying for the service through my return would cost an extra fee. At the final checkout, I noticed the added fee. There was no opportunity at that point to remove the fee. I needed to look back through the previous screens to find where this new charge came from. I finally found that I been duped into agreeing to the updated service when I opted to pay for the service through my return. What's even more deceptive is that this additional feature (paying through my return) was said to be "Free" under the updated Premium service. In other words, by opting into a service that was "included FREE" through the Premium service, I had agreed to pay for the Premium service. I cannot imagine this labyrinthine process that almost duped me into paying a service I did not want was unintentional. Whether it's through the FTC, through a California class action under UCL, or some other mechanism, I suspect Turbo Tax will be getting in trouble for this.
