TurboTax takes the stress and worry out of doing taxes, especially when you use it in successive years (the program compares year over year numbers). Among our circle of friends, we're always the ones who receive our refunds way before others begin theirs!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is free, until they hold you hostage. Turbo Tax is great with how it is organized and walks you through the entire tax process. It works well to make sure that you can find any information or questions you may have. However, it will then inform you, after working on your taxes for 30-60 minutes, that you now need to pay an additional fee in order to proceed because you are filing a certain way, then we need to charge you because you are wanting to direct deposit your refund, then there is another fee that needs to be tacked on at the very end after 2 hours of getting your information together. The tech is great, but is specifically designed to hold you hostage when you have spent the most time and effort to feed it the information it requires. I would not have a problem with this if it just started the whole process with, "you are going to pay $XXX, would you like to proceed?" Basically you take a stressful situation with gathering information and paying for taxes and compound that experience with surprise costs. It makes for a terrible feeling experience when the tech that is being used makes for one of the best ways to pay for taxes. Just say up front what we are going to pay and this is 5 star site, but otherwise, its going to feel like a hostage negotiation.
