Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK;hard to correlate interview questions to return Certain interview questions are vague as to what they are asking for or where the info will be used on tax return. Would like to recommend A) being able to preview relevant section of return immediately as it pertains to those questions so users can tell if they are on the right track and what the impact is. Currently this preview isn't available until right before filing, whereupon I frequently realize there are many errors due to my misinterpretation of what is being asked for (in particular for complicated issues like non-deductible portion of mortgage interest where a portion of loan is not secured by home) and then having to go through EVERYTHING again to try to figure out where to fix it. There should be hyperlinks on the return preview that will take you to the question(s) that resulted in the reported numbers. I'm a CPA and I understand how the actual return should work, but it's often unclear what you are asking for and why. B) There are answers on return that I just CANNOT get back to the original place where I entered them. For example the basis of my home when calculating depreciation for home office deduction. I entered it incorrectly (realized previewing the return before filing) and went through every question again for entire return but it never took me back to that place. I ended up finally having to delete my home location and start all over again. I'm still not sure why after all of that, there is no deduction (is it not a high enough % of AGI or something??) It should tell you this from the get-go (or what the max would be) so I don't waste HOURS of time gathering this info for nothing. In addition, it asks what method I used to calculate the home office deduction last year. I don't remember and TurboTax won't show me those details for a prior year. But I've filed with TurboTax every year for more than a decade so YOU should already have this info instead of asking me, forcing me to guess, and potentially guessing wrong and flagging my return for an audit!! I couldn't even begin to back into last year's numbers because you aren't transparent with how any of those calculations are supposed to work. I'm an accountant and I want to see that math so I can understand how it works, verify the calculated amounts, and for planning purposes for future years to maximize deductions, etc.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worse that ever! Every year I regret using it 10 years ago Turbo Tax was helpful and easy to use. Every year since it has become worse and worse. I had to file an extension due to its short comings. It takes me 5-10x as long to file today as it did years ago. It gives bad advice and limits how I can fix any issue. Finding documents is a waste of time via the program (like extensions). Filing by paper is easier. I think this will be my last Turbo Tax year.
