TurboTax Corporation has too many pitfalls
If you check that the depreciation tax and book are the same, it still puts depreciation in M-1. There is no question for a personal holding corporation in the list of questions. It is very difficult to get answers to problems. Phone numbers take you to TurboTax Deluxe , but not to Turbotax Business. There is no help for the balance sheet.

Fast and Easy
This year's turbotax is better than ever. It was easy to navigate through the income section including interest and dividends. I have a lot of different investment accounts, so lots of tax documents. The auto import feature works great! Only thing is, some banks and investment companies don't allow the use of a vpn, so that might cause the auto login to fail with a "id/password not recognized" error message. Just temporarily disable your vpn and it should work fine. I had to figure this out on my own. Might be nice to have a hint displayed to try disabling vpn when auto login fails.

Very confusing to file for deceased
Overall it was relatively easy but I had to manually change several addresses once I printed the return out as it was never clear what address they wanted

Very Helpful
As usual, it was excellent. TurboTax does a great job of improving the product every year. My connection with a consultant was terrific, seamless and helped out. It had a few minor flaws, one that needs to be fixed, the others just suggestions: - I had two identical entries on 1099-Rs. But they were different forms-one was from a qualified plan, the other from an IRA but the same provider. But since 1099-Rs don't have dates, the only difference was one was marked IRA. TurboTax was unable to detect that and didn't give a button to override. I had to call a live expert to get help. We finally just skipped to FILE and it went through. - There were a number of changes from 2020 to 2021. The biggest was no qualified disaster for COVID-related issues. My spouse was laid off due to lingering sales issues because of Covid. The company received a subsidy for that but there was no tax relief in 2021 as there was in 2020. That information should have been prominent in the help screens. - A review of major changes that came about from 2017 should be found somewhere obvious. Whenever rules are changed in sports, the changes are highlighted at the start of the rule book. That sure would be helpful, even just on a summary basis. For example, the deduction for seeking a new job when laid off, or for moving expenses for a job more than 100 miles away has been eliminated. That's a big deal.

Turbo Tax > the rest!
I've been using Turbo Tax online to file my returns since 2012. I can attest to the ease of use and the successful execution of our federal and state returns. Although we do not always get a refund, Turbo Tax facilitates the processes needed to complete the tax season workflow. I am a loyal Turbo Tax customer and I do not see that changing anytime soon. Thank you!
