Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax gets the job done despite annoyances Having used TurboTax for a number of years I found the 2022 version to have several annoying flaws. For example, it complained about the K-1 from my Sub-S corp because it had "blanks". Well the income was zero, and that's what I typed in - what else could I have done? The income section continued to ask the same questions over and over - about cyber income, disaster relief, and some other nonsense that I'd answered NO to previously and yet I must have been asked the same thing 4 or 5 times. Once is enough. Same is true for the "friendly reminder about your retirement". Once is sufficient, stop after you've told me about having to make withdrawls already! Finally in my state tax section I was given zero dollars credit for property taxes even though I've received a credit in previous years and paid over $5K in property tax last year. No explanation, no ability to ask for help without paying extra. Maybe it's fine but it doesn't feel like TT gave me the full credit deserved. Speaking of paying extra, OK I get the motivation to upsell users on "Max". But quit nagging after we've said NO once or twice, OK? Bottom line is TurboTax completed my filing without difficulty and my taxes are paid, but tax time is stressful enough without being nagged and chased through endless loops for no reason. Because of this I'd give thoughtful consideration to changing to a different tax software provider next year.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not very happy with turbo tax Found it hard to navigate. don't like not having program on my computer. Don't like not knowing price ahead of time. Used TT a number of years ago and found the process much easier. Wanted to look at forms and that didn't seem possible during the process. you clearly don't want me posting this review. I have tried 20 nicknames and they are all used.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Credit Card Does not Work Every year I attempt to use a CC to pay for a state return and receive an error at the Place Order screen. I tried multiple cards, and all received an error back. This has been 3 years in a row . thank you for saving me $25

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some issues but overall ok I chose to use TurboTax this year because my very nice accountant (who I used for many years) is not as 'with it' as he used to be, and last year I had to correct a number of his mistakes several times. That said, I'm glad that I read the reviews of TurboTax before choosing to use the program. They probably will hit you with unexpected costs if they find your tax return to be more than what they consider a 'simple' return. They also will keep asking you if you want to enroll in their live program with a tax expert for an additional fee. Pluses: The turbotax program is easy to follow, and it is easy to go back to edit sections that were not previously completed. The tutorials are very helpful (I actually feel like a tax expert after preparing my own return this year). Minuses: There are some glitches in the program. Turbotax's response to a glitch that was discovered on April 10th is that users should file a tax extension while Turbotax tech folks work out the glitch. This is ok advice, but customers want to file their taxes on time. It would be nice if Turbotax offered some compensation to customers for those glitches. Also, as noted above, it is annoying that the Turbotax program keeps asking customers if they want live support for an extra fee. Despite the minuses, Turbotax is better than my accountant was, and I probably will use Turbotax again next year.
