I filed my income tax with the 2021 version of Turbo Tax Premier and yet 2022 states that I did not use TT to file my tax return. The instructions for 1099-B were short-circuited. I had two 1099-B forms but it allowed me to upload only one of them. I am not sure if my online purchase of the software was cheaper than what I would have paid at Costco. No indication that TT has given me preferential treatment for being a repeat customer.

For example...I run all the checks and its fine, no flags and, I pay for the return and then Turbo tax flags an error and tells me if I can't fix it I have to mail it in. Not what I want or need after hours of tax work.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
