I like that it uses some of my previous information and also allows you to upload current documents to fill in part of the information. It makes it so much faster and easier and more accurate. I was also able to chat with someone from Intuit using Messenger to get help logging into the correct website. I probably would have given up trying if they hadn't help me navigate finding it online.

I filed a simple standard deduction and uploaded a few extra documents and get charged an extra $118...total of $178. That is insane.

If you have a simple tax return, you can file for free yourself with TurboTax Free Edition, or you can file with TurboTax Live Assisted Basic or TurboTax Live Full Service Basic at the listed price.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
