Rated 3 out of 5 by from What Happened to One Free Stae E-File? Filing taxes is not my favorite thing. Turbotax makes it more simple. I thought one free State E-File was included with the purchase of the Deluxe version. Am I missing something? I didn't expect to have to pay for it. That should be made clear when you check the box to e-file your state return. That cost you some of my goodwill.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TurboTax is very helpful, but far too expensive. This service (always "free" with a wink and a giggle) has gone up every single year. I could not even look at options below $119, when someone in my own family used TT for around $60. It's pretty gross, but they know they can trap their loyal customers desperate to get taxes done and keep going up on the price bit by bit. It truly is easy; outside of the fee, it's honestly the best tax prep situation I can imagine while still having to handle taxes yourself. About 40% of what I paid would be right on the money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Confusing premium membership My membership was forced into a premium membership after I uploaded my past 1040 documents into the site. I never got a message saying that was going to happen by uploading past returns. An it is the hardest thing to get customer service to call you back. My return is very simple and was supposed to be free. Instead I ended up having to pay for a premium service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Snuck in extra charges I wanted to apply for the free standard deduction. Sneakily, the prompts guided me away from this option as I filled in my information. I felt deceived and ended up paying in the end as I didn't want to start over and not only file my taxes again but figure out how to avoid the sly diversions that would lead me to have to pay. I just wanted to file for free but instead was bombarded with all these added extras. Annoying and confusing.
