Rated 2 out of 5 by from Frustrated I've used TurboTax since around 2008. I have been through various changes in my tax status and various more slightly (but not terribly) unusual situations. I consistently find that when it comes to more complicated returns with things like clergy income and housing allowances, overseas income, business income, issues with ACA compliance (back when it mattered), there are system glitches which are new every year. This has led me to work very hard to figure out which questions on turbotax line up with certain places on the 1040 and worksheets so I can be sure things are turning out correctly. But this is a frustrating process. Sometimes your wording of a question is not as straightforward as the IRS publications, so I wind up having to go back and change my selections when things don't populate correctly. I decide what I need to enter, then going through your questions and trying to game the system into turning up the correct information on the form, which is obviously an ill-fated thing to do. I wish it wasn't so. I love that TurboTax walks you through things, and does so many of the calculations for you, I just wish that Turbo Tax would be easier to line up with IRS publications as you go through the process and that the TurboTax questions would indicate which lines on the 1040 we are working on, so I can follow along. It shouldn't be so veiled. Every year I swear I won't use you again, but every year I come back because I hope the quirks will be fixed. But there are just new ones. It almost never fails, I usually have some sort of issue, whether it is a system glitch which I wouldn't catch if I had not been working so hard to follow along with IRS publications, or just a poorly worded question that doesn't account for every circumstance. It is just difficult to verify that the forms populate correctly and you have to pay to see them, so it's like "Pay us so we can tell you that we did a bad job and then you can fix it." So in summary, I use you because its the best tool I can find short of hiring a CPA, but I don't trust your system to lead me to the correct answers because I have just had too much trouble with it. I always tell my friends to use TurboTax ONLY if they can read tax preparation documents for themselves and have some understanding of taxes. Maybe next year is the year I can finally hire a CPA...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Frustrating this time I file with Turbo Tax for the last few years and I kept getting error messages after e-filing. I paid 25 dollars and the e-file was rejected. I never received an refund yet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over charged, to the tune of $65.00, won't use! AGI was rejected twice, I know what I made! After speaking with Turbo Tax, was told to enter AGI as 0. So far, it has been accepted ... we'll see?
