Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't Expect Refund Help A perffectly reviewed and carefully filled out 1040, and the state tax dependent on its federal acceptance, were rejeted after e-filing (and payment of the state e-filing fee). Reviewing the suggested areas in the questionnaire for e-fililng found all identification entries correct. Submitted, rejected again. Have printed forms for filing, and don't expect to receive a refund of the state filing fee.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Program keeps up charging to finish. $50 too much. Too expensive when I've done most of the work and din't get a lot back. It should be $50 less than what i was charged. The program kept uncharging me in order to finish my claim.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish I had started doing this 15 years ago I have a somewhat complicated situation: some self-employment income, HSAs, a child in college, investment income, healthcare marketplace insurance for part of the year, etc. For years I have done my taxes using the free fillable forms from the IRS. It took HOURS of tedious boring work, and I often ended up making mistakes which the IRS would catch later. Finally this year, the free fillable forms site wasn't working properly and I got fed up and decided to spring for using TurboTax. With all the complexity of my situation, I finished the whole thing (both fed and state) in about an hour. It was absolutely one of the best $180 investments I ever made. Just having all the W2 information autofilled rather than having to type it all in by hand was almost worth the cost by itself. But also, of course, knowing that all the forms are filled out right, the calculations are correct, and that I'm not making mistakes in my interpretation of the rules, were the real value-added.
