My taxes are not super complicated but I had a number of items that needed to be handled including SSA benefits, retirement payments, IRA/401(k) conversions, which it handled easily. I've been using TurboTax for well nearly 30 years. Only once quite a while ago did I experience any problems. It has been trustworthy and dependable.

When it went to review it wanted a line or two changed. I think it is because the Fed no longer gives that deduction.

If you have a simple tax return, you can file for free with TurboTax Free Edition or TurboTax Live Assisted Basic. You can also file with TurboTax Live Full Service Basic at the listed price.

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
