Rated 1 out of 5 by from TurboTax is completely broken for stock investors I would have finished in half the time if I did everything by hand myself. The section dealing with investments is completely broken: 1) Software does not interpret 1099-B options writing transactions properly. 2) Software does not deal with RSU and ESPP cost basis properly. 3) Setting option transactions to EXPIRED breaks the proceeds field. 4) Asks me to enter and review tons of data actually not required by the IRS. 5) Insists on filing everything using form 8949 even when everything already has cost basis reported to IRS and could have been done with a couple of lines using only schedule D. 6) the transaction review pages have tons of navigation issues. 7) Still doesn't support section 1256 trades. If it wasn't because I have no other good options for e-filing California state taxes, I would ditch this crap in a second.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Regular Turbo tax user I like the way turbo tax carries info from 1099 Div, Int statements, and 1099-B gains and losses directly to the software from the Mutual fund or Brokerage accounts. This saves a lot of time and it does it accurately. It is a little expensive, but I think I will stay with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from glitch When claiming money received from National Grid as a result of our solar panels giving energy to Nat Grid, Turbo Tax designates this as a business expense. It is not--we do not have a business--very confusing to get this straight--it's a refund for energy we did not use.
