Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax Having used Turbo Tax for more than eight years, I am extremely pleased with the way it processes my federal returns. However, Turbo Tax has been a total disaster for my state returns. To avoid paying a penalty or large amounts of due taxes, after using Turbo Tax, I always have to re-do my state tax returns. Turbo Tax is not programed to correctly process the tax return for individuals who retired in the TEACHERS' RETIREMENT SYSTEM OF LOUISIANA and are more than 70 years old. Turbo Tax is not programed to grant proper consideration to all of the exemptions that are allowed these individuals. The result is Turbo Tax incorrectly computes large amounts of due income taxes for the state tax return. However, when these individuals are given all of their allowed exemptions, their state tax returns show zero tax due or very large refunds to the individuals. This has been my experience with Turbo Tax for many years. It is the reason why I no longer request Turbo Tax to do my state return.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Program froze 3 times and I have used turbo tax many times but this year the program frooze 3 times and each time I lost information. The program should auto safe your return while you are working on it so that data is not lost.

It is not easy to navigate and it shuts pages so I have to put data in multiple times before it would retain the information. I wait every year to file so all the bugs are worked out of the system. No luck this year

Its very importatn to see the deductions and results of answers given to tax questions as they change the refund- the bottom line

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax just works. It did for me and can for U! Was great. A lil daunting doing this yourself but this really did make it much less intimidating. I had balked at the cost of my Tax Pro in brick and mortor after they said to split my refund would require I pay up front and the fee would still remain the incredibly higher amount than what I paid here. Not to mention they were getting me back less than TurboTax found for me.
