Turbo Tax said everything was correct, so I electronically filed. The State got rejected because "the Total Alabama Wages, Form 40, Page 1, Line 5, must meet the total amount of all State wages reported in Box 16". I checked my W2's and what I entered into the Federal Taxes section of Turbo Tax - they are correct. How did Turbo Tax come up with the wrong number on my State form? How was this not flagged during the review?

A simple tax return is one that's filed using IRS Form 1040 only, without having to attach any forms or schedules. Only certain taxpayers are eligible.
