Rated 5 out of 5 by from TurboTax is better than my Wife's CPA TurboTax was better than my new wife's CPA. At 1st I had my wife's CPA do our joint taxes, but he missed too many deductions and credits compared to the detailed interview on TurboTax. We are both self-employed, sold a rental house former primary residence within that tricky 2 of 5 year test, have a disabled adult son, Solo 401(k)'s , sold stocks, ect, TurboTax was also great for what it planning scenarios. Having detailed control over my taxes, also helps me keep detailed control over my budget too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not as Excellent as the last 7 years Normally I can give an excellent review, however this year it was just good enough. Areas such as deductions for working remotely (not self employed) allowed me to work the calculations for space, utilities etc., but would not allow the deduction. Program at that point indicated I would need to use a different version that refused to load. The pension saving plan area was a bit ambiguous. Also, the software instructions page for mailing would normally provide an address for both tax owed and a different address for refunds or no taxes (on the state). The refund/no tax address was not included. Found it on the state form. Good but not excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TurboTax is excellent TurboTax makes filing taxes less painful. It carries over last year's info, and it keeps everything organized - it's great for my OCD and removes the anxiety from filing taxes. I've been using it for my entire adult life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used to be great - now poor My 2019 and 2020 turbotax products were flawed with license activation errors - forcing me to buy a new license for 2019. I spent well over 3 hours with a TT service person who was never able to resolve the issue. If you don't resolve this for the future, I will never buy TT again! I have seen hundreds of complaints online with others having the same problem with no real solution - only steps that didn't work. This is unacceptable.
