Rated 5 out of 5 by from Family fun time We did taxes together as a family. The little comments along the way to congratulate or help guide were very entertaining and helps feel better about filing taxes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from User friendly, helpful, and accurate! This is the second year that I have used TurboTax to file, and I feel completely confident in the service. Last year my return was easy and accurate; and this year- despite having started a small business and now being responsible for researching business tax and providing and combing through a lot more detailed information- it was still very easy to file. TurboTax provides prompts, insight, and guidance throughout the whole process and this was such a relief as a tax filer and new business owner especially.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TurboTax Makes Filing Easy TurboTax made e-filing easy this year. There were only a couple of sections where I had to manually enter information because of my business situation, but the software makes everything else painless.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product overall, mortgage interest issues I've used TurboTax for the past several years and have always been pleased with the product. This year, however, I ran into a very frustrating circumstance related to the Mortgage Interest deduction section. The system and order in which we enter in our Form 1098 information does not lend itself well to filers that have multiple 1098's to enter. The instructions to follow if you happen to have multiple 1098's don't appear until you're already 4-5 screens into populating the first 1098. Then it also does not provide the user (filer) much confidence in that the Lender name you inputted several screens earlier and the total interest paid in Box 1 of the 1098's now don't align. For example, lets say I had three 1098's for 2020 tax year totaling $10,000 but that total amount of interest was paid to three different lenders, say $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000. The specific instructions that pop up when you click into the link say to add all three together and enter that amount ($10,000) into Box 1. The issue though is that $10,000 is NOT associated with the lender name that was inputted earlier in the process. Perhaps only that $5,000 amount was as the other two were tied to the other lenders that you happen to pay off when refinancing. Following what I believe would be normal intuition, and how I believe I did it in previous years, I would create 3 different 1098 instances and enter in the applicable lender information and all the boxes from each of the 1098's. Taking this course of action, however, resulted in me not receiving the full mortgage interest deduction I am legally allowed to receive because the software/system aggregated the Box 2 amounts (Outstanding principal balance) from the three 1098's making it seem like I was well above the $750,000 loan cap (for loans opened after 2017). This was extremely frustrating as I know the TurboTax software was incorrectly taking this action that resulted in a lower deduction and therefore an incorrect tax due or refund. Perhaps other customers experienced this same issue and still ended up filing, therefore incorrectly. Thank you for your time in reviewing this.
