Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use But..... TurboTax is easy to use and I've used them for several years. However, I dislike that it prompts you numerous times about upgrades. Forewarning, the ability to take the fees out of your return requires a processing fee as well. Over all I do like the program but just watch the upgrades because it can add up quick.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too many upgrade ads cause confusion I have used TurboTax for many many many years. This year and last year I found the product to be almost unusable because of the CONSTANT prompts to upgrade and add-on to YOUR product. Last year I almost lost tract of some prepayment of taxes because I lost the thread of what I was entering. Don't know if I will ever use this product again. And yes, I have used a more costly level of preparation ALREADY. Stop it already.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cumbersome, Slow, Glitchy & Riddled with Upsells TurboTax is so bloated. It's slow, they keep doing these stupid animations (that make it slower), inserting constant upsells (I got 3 of them in 12 minutes on TT today). Just such a painful process. The whole thing really needs to be blown up and rebuilt. For example, there are things it doesn't ask you that then flags issues you need to fix in a very convoluted process. Why doesn't it just ask those things upfront, like how you use a vehicle in your business. And others, it asks you, but doesn't put the info into the federal form, so it creates an error. Lastly, it doesn't enforce certain entry rules, like text length, creating errors (e.g. if your bank name is too long for direct debit payment of taxes). It could just enforce the 35 character limit when you enter it the first time to avoid the whole correction loop, but no. If it wasn't full of upsell ads and worthless animations that just frustrate, I would forgive the errors/glitches. Or, if it wasn't glitchy and full of issues, I'd forgive the speed and advertisements. But both, combined with stupid reasons to force you into higher tiers (why does a minor child w/ bank interest need to be on anything but the most basic filing level instead of $59 for Fed plus another $59 for state? That should be a free filing, or $39 all in at most).
