Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easiest year ever Maybe the tax laws are streamlined, but this was the easiest filing since I have used TurboTax. The app was very responsive, explanations were understandable and I have confidence with the results. Only reason I didn’t check 5 bars yet, I couldn’t find good explanation of how to print. I have an iPad, no printer, and require taking the file to staples.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good not Awesome Turbotax was comprehensive in getting all of the data that I uploaded as part of my tax return. The step by step prompts made it easy to file and they were accurately receiving most data. Some of dividends and gains had just a little bit of nuance, and the system was able to lead me correctly in those areas. This was the positive experience. One thing they appear to have gotten wrong is one of the simplest. My AGI was correctly computed as 37,017 on my 1040. Then they said the tax liability for me was 4,004. If you look at a tax table, this appears to be simply wrong. This error is in my favor, since the correct answer appears to be 4,238. I filed anyway since they have all these guarantees. Maybe I am missing something. But this seems like something straight forward, right from the tax table that TurboTax got wrong. I did not want to contact a TurboTax rep to straighten this out, because that would only mean more fees from TurboTax. Lastly, I don't recall selecting premium as my preferred method. So I wasn't thrilled to get dinged with $189 at the very end of the tax return. I think this fee might ultimately be worth it, but I would have liked to have been notified earlier in the process, whenever my tax situation triggered the need for the premium plan.
