Rated 4 out of 5 by from Couple things they missed It seems that TT was unable to determine that my wifes ROTH was a 401(k) and not an IRA. TT then reported that all contributions were in error. It is my belief that they should have been able to determine from the W2 and other supplied documents that it was a ROTH 401(k) not IRA. TT never asked if I was still self-employed (even though there was no 1099 supplied) they made the assumption that I was and generated the necessary forms which I had to manually remove and provide the proper values. This question should have been asked at the beginning. A lot of sole proprietor ships were not in existence after COVID. Other than these two issues TT performed with it's usual speed and thoroughness.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does NOT know how to input/reconcile fees on 1099B I uploaded my tax information from TD Ameritrade which included fees from 3 different Grayscale Trusts (GBTC, ETHE, &LTCN). because it was a fee, there was no purchase date provided and no cost basis was provided either. TurboTax provided no guidance on this and phone support was stumped. This caused hours of frustration trying to figure out a workaround on my own as the missing data on the Worksheet would not allow me to file. one example of this is that TDAmeritrade's 1099B showed purchase date as 'N/A' but TurboTax would not allow for that to be entered in their purchased date field.

It would have saved me hours of trying to figure it out only to find thru Google a post for the exact same issue a day late of tax day. I was caught in an endless loop with the program automatically entering in a "0" like a number should be there only to find out it should be blank. Stayed up past midnight confused and frustrated! Otherwise, thankful for Turbo Tax. Please continue to try and make the process easy to answer and understand.
