Rated 2 out of 5 by from Some Good, Some Bad One of the worst aspects of TurboTax for state filing is that the state efiling fee of $25 is quite excessive, as the real cost is basically about zero, and it's just a pure profit. It really does make me want to plan to use some other software if there is any that doesn't rip us off in this way at the last step.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Tax Package-State Return Too Expensive TurboTax remains a fine choice for compiling your taxes and learning about changes to the tax code that may affect you. There should be no state tax filing fees for a product that is so expensive. Also, the attempt to upsell an unnecessary Premiere product to income property owners is a bit sleazy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TurboTax is so and so Great at keeping historical records/last year return so you can quickly view what you put in for a last years returns. However its horrible at bringing your trades from Etrade for Options trading. I had to spend 7 hours just fixing 200 of my trades that Turbotax messed up on while bringing my trading data from Etrade. Also customer service is horrible help when you try to reach out to them via phone call. Dude simply hung up on me when asking about the payment options or whether a discount code email i received was valid.

This year, I completed both my federal and state returns and got ready to efile. I got a message that the data could not be validated. I tried several more times and it would not go through. Then I spent nearly two hours on the phone with one of your agents who "tried" many things but could not make the software work. I ran out of time and filed via mail.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Relatively quick way to complete your taxes This year (for 2022) when I started to enter income from forms 1099-R, the system wanted to me the investment income section. It would not let me review my forms 1099-R that it had properly identified fro 2021 tax year. Had to continue until the system brought me back to resolve income discrepancies.
