Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really sub-par this year I am a 10, maybe even 15+ year user of Turbo Tax, and for the first time engaged my husband to do taxes with me, because he had started investing some this year and I thought would enjoy participating, ALSO because he is a proud taxpayer who comes from a country where paying taxes is avoided, and corruption is widespread. He has a fear of systems trying to lead him astray, and the reliability of Turbo Tax had impressed me over the years. This year was abysmal -- data we entered was lost multiple times -- we were asked to review data multiple times, and upon doing so, would find our previous entries has been wiped. Upon login, we were autorouted to the TT Live, which ended up slapping us with an 95$ upcharge that only became apparent at the end of our painful journey, having lost and repeatedly entered data. We were expecting to see 75$ for Premier, and saw $170. We blazed a trail through to customer service, and were routed to 3 specialists over the course of 2 hours and 4 minutes on the phone. At the end of the day, the technician Tracie that helped me couldn't manage to get our TT Premier price to the proper $75, but I had spent 2 hours on the phone, so the extra $10 I had to pay seemed worth it. Tracie - who is in Texas, was dogged, diligent, kind, competent, and respectful -- I have no complaints about her and sense she an her colleagues have been tossed in to a veeeeerrrrry tough situation this year. I found it absurd that she had to jump through so many hoops over probably an hour (after my time with Salena and Christopher) just to get a working discount code for long time customer who had already had a poor experience. Not a good way to treat employees or customers. I know it has been a hard year, and a number of changes have thrown curve balls to TT, but the experience this year was really unpleasant, filled with errors and has reignited an anxiety in my husband he (and our whole family) could live without.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy/Quick Taxes even with several things to add I was able to figure out all the craziness of filing taxes a military member has while stationed in one state, submitting taxes for another, and owning a house in another. I was able to do it all on my own with minor hiccups along the way.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2020 Software Extremely Buggy! Lots of problems with software. Wouldn't let me e-file even thought I confirmed last year's AGI. Software crashed continually when I the program tried to take me to checkout page to pay for state e-file. Human customer service is NON-EXISTANT! I've used TurboTax for over 15 years, but 2020 will be my last!
