This year was more straight forward, but based on last year's experience, I decided that it is worth the extra cost to have an expert prepare my taxes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, Fun, Easy to Follow They tell you the meaning of practically everything you do. It was super easy to file, but they keep prompting you to upgrade your plan. If you situation is straightforward then you'll be fine with the free plan

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Got it done, painfully! I really like the step by step process, but ran into many problems with 1099B's. It seems though turbotax is well aware of all the forms and requirements, it's almost impossible to get all info into return and I still need to mail data to IRS. Unable to fill in forms on line and when correcting info it was doubled!
