Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great, except for late filers. The software would be great if I had filed on time or had an extension. The software says up front I can't e-file, but then makes it seem like "oh, if you pay a fee AND pay us $50, we'll e-file for you". This sent me down a rabbit hole that took more time than actually doing the taxes, before it led me back to "you can't e-file". I was dreading getting back into this software, so I went to IRS web site for where to mail taxes. It gives a different address than you give, but that was for 2022. A call to the IRS leads nowhere; the automated system says my question is "too complicated" and hangs up on me. Trying to find out on the IRS web site where to send late taxes was no help either, because it directs me to a notice that was mailed to me when I lived in a different city. I've lived in 6 different cities since 2019. Next, I'm going to try sending Intuit a message. I would gladly pay extra for peace of mind knowing your software had been updated for late filers. Again, this would not be a problem if I had filed on time without extensive delay, but if you're going to sell a product, make sure it's still viable for the customer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Jumping Through Hoops to Get What I Deserve TurboTax experts are courteous and easy to work with. I had to fight to get an economic impact payment I was owed, however. I also would not have received any refund at all were it not for the EIP, which is bizarre because I got a refund last year and my tax profile hasn't changed much. I expected more especially paying extra for TurboTax Live. Probably going to find my own accountant next year.

On the one area where I had a question, I was able to chat with someone who answered my question immediately. I am very confident in the accuracy of my tax return and save a lot on preparer fees by doing it myself!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over Priced - Under Performed Too many fields refer the user to the code and provide no explanation in the program. Once the return was completed, error check found no errors. But when I went to Efile, it found errors that need to be fixed before it would Efile. I made the required changes, then it would not efile saying the changes which I was told to make were incorrect. Went through this at least 12 time. Spent more than two hours on the phone with Intuit Rep. We repeated the same process at least 6 times. Still would not Efile. The Rep's solution was print 90+ pages and mail it!
