Rated 4 out of 5 by from TurboTax is asking ME???!!! TurboTax steps you through the federal return pretty well, asking questions to determine what situations apply. However there are quite a few places on the Massachusetts return where it asks the user if there are any adjustments needed to the federal numbers due to federal/Massachusetts differences. In some cases it gives a few examples of why differences may occur, or it may say "this is not common". But it doesn't give enough info for me (or for 95% of users, I strongly suspect) to determine if adjustments are necessary - you need to know by some other means. Since TurboTax says they are not common, I cross my fingers and go with no adjustments... which shouldn't be necessary. Given the cost of the product and how long it has been in production you'd think Intuit could build whatever decision tree is necessary to provide a definitive answer. For every state!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Please make imported tax returns easier to use I started a review before finding out that importing the previous year's return is easier to use. I wish it was possible to add it to a pre-existing return instead of starting a brand new return.
