Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo tax needs to fix issues with 1099Q/1098T I've been using Turbo Tax for 10 yrs and over time my returns have become more complex. This year I encountered an issue where Turbo Tax overcalculated my federal taxes because I was over the limit for the AOTC credit. I had 529 withdrawals that were less than my tuition expenses so none of the 529 withdrawals should be taxable. But it didn't account for that because I was over the AOTC credit. If I hadn't asked a CPA to look at my return, I wouldn't have known this. Once discovered, I went to the Turbo Tax community and saw that others have had this issue and the answer was to not enter the 1099Q and just save the records that show the 1098T is greater than the 1099Q. Turbo Tax should have a better way to account for this issue. I'm now concerned that there are other missed over the decade I have been using this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax is User Friendly TurboTax is truly a life saver. They make sure you get everything that is coming to you. The system practically does the taxes for you. It's very detailed. A person would have to be computer literate though to surpass certain information that doesn't apply to you.

It handles complicated preparation matters like partnership K-1s, gains and losses on investments, and state matters with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very smooth and quick Used it for the first time and was surprised by how smooth it was. Extremely easily, especially if your only income is from a single source. Even if it isn't , it would require only a short additional amount of time.
