Need a Mac version
You need a less expensive/less comprehensive version of TurboTax for irrevocable trusts. Not all of us trustees are wealthy businessmen. I'm paying $170 a year for lots of capability that I will never need, as I'm a retired naval officer/writer. I don't run a business, and I'm not well off. I manage this irrevocable trust for my invalid cousin.

TurboTax
Would have given it 5 stars except the very annoying Schedule 8812 pop up that shows up over and over and over until we guess what you want from us. How about a little guidance next time?

Frustrating if you have K-1s to file
Generally Turbotax is fairly straightforward to use. And it's helpful that information and data is carried over from prior years. What is frustrating for me is that I also have a K-1 from an energy partnership, a fairly small investment, that adds hours of frustration to my year-end tax filing using TT. My K-1 only has a handful of figures on it and it should be fairly simple. But by following TT's prompts and entering data from requested line items, I've ended up double-counting items. And it's difficult to "undo" those unless I simply delete the K-1 and start over. I also noticed TT incorrectly assumes my partnership (an LLP) uses a particular method of depreciation, so it adjusts a figure once I've entered it. I usually figure that out later and have to go re-enter it at a different point. For me to check whether things are entered properly requires me to see a printout of my final tax filing. Of course, I can't do this unless I fully pay TT upfront. Of course, I intend to do that, but it's just annoying. Last year, I spent time manually going over my Sch E and all the related IRS instructions, allowing me to finally understand what my Sch E was supposed to look like. I discovered TT had improperly filled out my Schedule E for several years. I had to amend many filings. No cost do it because I got a refund. But what a pain. It would be great if I could simply do direct entry method on the actual Schedule E within TT because I know what this should look like each year and it would save me hours of frustration. But they don't. I've had other K-1s, such as one from a commodity fund, that was not as frustrating.

Turbo Tax is very poorly supported
Turbo Tax said that my Minnesota State tax could not be efiled and could not tell me why. I called Turbo Tax support and that rep and his boss could tell me why I could not efile. The Rep did not offer to even look at my taxes. I was able to efile my mother-in-laws state taxes BUT it would not let me efile mine. This is the second year in a row that I have had problems with Turbo Tax. I am ready to find a new product.

2021 Thumbs Down
takes way longer to update, way to much advertising and they charge for everything. Previouse year 2020 tax transfer had less information when transefered to 2021then I expected.
