Rated 1 out of 5 by from Less consistent, less helpful, more complicated I've used Turbo tax for a dozen years now. Single and married. Every year, the experience gets worse. The terms aren't applied consistently. I get reprompted for literally the same question multiple times through a session. My progress doesn't get saved and I have to restart whole sections. The import functionality at the first screen is correct, but once moving forward everything is the wrong value, wrong name, etc. We had a whole state bug out because it said our school code was wrong, but none of the screens it would let us get to could change it, and we had to restart. The terminology is super unclear. For Massachusetts, there are a lot of norms around remote work and specific implementations for 2021 - that were NOT there. All the examples were completely wrong for Mass, which is a load of fun. Isn't that why we pay for these services, so they know these things? VERY complicated, a lot of repetition, buggy, and inaccurate. I used to love this, but the last two years this service has been awful.

I was offered a $10 discount for the state filing, but when I went to purchase it the discount was gone. I tried to just leave the page, but it went ahead and processed my purchase. When I complained, I got a royal runaround from your customer people, who said that I had made the purchase (i had NOT!. It leaves an awful aftertaste and I will never feel the same about Turbotax. Lousy way to do business, imho.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good tool to do taxes. This year Turbo Tax has become very expensive. It cost about $110 plus to complete simple seniors federal and State return and E file. Next year I have to find other alternative.
