Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over Priced. I had to pay 180$ and doesn't tell me why I need the deluxe or if i need to change it I only have 1 job (Not self employed) and a few apps that I use. Why is it Deluxe? .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 8 Years Filing with TurboTax, 0 Regrets At this point, I can't imagine doing my taxes any other way. Next year, when my return is more complicated because of starting a new business, I know I'll still come back to TurboTax to file, though I will perhaps finally try having one of their experts take care of it all for me. Can highly recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Core functions OK; error in College Credit The basic feature set of TurboTax has been pretty good for many years now. The step-by-step interview process handles the actual logic in a (mostly) easy to understand way. One canalso call up detailed worksheets used to perform calculations. It would be nice if one could see the relationship between the data in these two completely separate user intefaces. But the feature set has been entirely static, so I'm not really sure that they are investing in the product or just reaping profits. HOWEVER, it made a spectacular error in calculating eligibility for the American Opportunity Tax Credit. It applied qualified expenses first to determining the eligibility of expenses for 529 distributions, thus leaving no expenses for the AOTC. I would have missed out on $2500 per college kid if I hadn't caught the error. The software has a snazzy animation showing that it's "maximizing" your education-related credits. Yet it failed spectacularly at this. I wonder how many millions of dollars have been missed-out on because of this error?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Free State wasn't allowed When I prepared a friend's tax return, I denied the free state so that I could use it with my tax return. I paid for her WI state return. Then I did my taxes and it asked for payment. What happened to my free State? I had to pay $25 twice for two returns!!!
