As the son of a former income tax accountant, I gained a tremendous amount of experience over the years with the manual preparation of income tax forms. The TurboTax program is a vast improvement over how things used to be done and the various gradations of service are a benefit as well. Navigating the site to find non-standard or atypical forms can be a challenge and then the additional upcharges can be a bit off-putting. All's well that ends well, however, and everything from e-filing through direct deposit of refunds is well worth the investment.
