Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turbotax need improvement The only advantage od using Turbotax is it has the forms available to fill in. Using it is not an easy task. Not only there are many areas it does not cover, it has quite a lot bugs you need to work around. The obvious one is once it goes through the steps, if you jump back to a previous step and make changes, it usually does not automatically reflect back to impacted forms, and gives errors during review, and you need to try to understand where the error came from and find the missing links. This sometimes is very time consuming and it needs a lot of tax knowledge. This is not a fool proof software that you can just follow its steps without any tax knowledge. If you do so, I guarantee you either could not get to the tax filing step, or you will have errors on tax forms and eventually get penalty from IRS.
