Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome but it is finiky with state taxes Everything is great with Turbo. I have been using this for 10+ years. However, I ran into an issue with filing 2 state taxes. I got payment screen for 1 state but not for 2nd state. This resulted in getting error which is hard to decipher at the end below "our records indicate that you are not entitled to efile one or more formsets." I had to delete the state taxes and redo again. Never had this heartache before. This can be improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Certainly helpful but disconnect in prior year I'm still trying to get my FED return done...16 hours at the computer. Keep going in loop with 2019 Fed return and line 11b which I have the hardcopy for...and check I sent IRS?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Amending Prior Year Returns Was Problematic This review is related to using 2019 Turbotax to amend prior year returns only. TurboTax gave the impression that you could e-file your amended returns when in reality, you couldn't. But it kept on giving you the option to e-file & transmit returns when that is not an actual option. I finally came to that conclusion after connecting with the 5th Turbotax specialist over a period of 2 days. He informed me that a prior year version will not allow you to e-file since the window for e-filing has expired, among other reasons. The software put you in an endless loop of leading you to believe that it transmitted & e-filed your return then the next message states that you're missing information to be able to transmit. It would have been more helpful if the instructions CLEARLY stated that you could only complete your amended return by mail and provide the screens to lead you down that route. I wasted 2.5 days over a process that should have taken me less than a day to complete. After talking to 5 TurboTax specialists, it appears that not all the specialists are familiar with the limitations in the software related to amending prior year returns. The 2nd person I spoke to even told me that I could e-file both federal and state. The last person I spoke to told me that you can ONLY mail, not e-file and to focus on printing my forms for mailing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good at Tax Calculations, Bad at Fees The product calculates taxes and walks you through everything, but just when you thought you paid for something, you get hit with additional fees. The initial software, to get a refund, to pay taxes, to e-file the state, 2.5% to use a credit card on top of the $4.95. It's just ridiculous.
