Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax 2020 Survey Turbo Tax does take a little time. But is very through. Had 2 problems / questions. Had one actual voice call / telephone communication. Had a one "Chat" ...back & forth written communication. Both Service Reps very knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and patient, in figuring things out AND resolving them. Wish them continued success at their jobs. Smile !!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from way too expensive for no reason I completely finish filling out my report and in order to get my student loan interest counted I had to pay $60, plus the $50 they don't tell you about upfront in order to file my state taxes. Don't advertise it as "free" if I can't file all of the things I need to in order to get my max return rate. If the free version doesn't let you file ALL of your taxes for free they should say that upfront. All of that, combined with the fact that they try to get you to fund their lobbying to congress and to fund governor candidates as you file, I won't be using turbotax again and I recommend no one else does either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from frustrating and difficult to use I am an experienced tax professional and each year I use TurboTax, I swear that I will never use it again. I know my way around a tax return after 39 years and some of the stuff I encounter as I complete returns using Turbo Tax just boggles my mind. I could go on and on about what I think needs to be updated and addressed. My biggest complaint this year is with assistance I requested when I received an error message that I could not include account debit details if I were paper filing. However, I was never planning on paper filing and tried multiple times to indicate so within the program. When that wasn't successful (after about 60 minutes of trying), I contacted Support. After an hour with Support, the recommended resolution was to delete the software and re-load it. I explained that the particular suggested fix was not an option as I had used a disc version and the disc was in Florida, whereas I was in NY. The rep said I would get a refund so I could repurchase the software. I completed and submitted the forms she provided, but my refund was rejected. So after several hours of trying to resolve something so simple, I was no where.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very user friendly. I had an unusual tax year. Removed funds from a retirement account which caused increased tax obligations. Several members were helpful in explaining why I owed the calculated amount. I learned a few tax tips along the way. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful and concise in their explanations.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never free, Didn't even get to use uber discount Hasn't been free for YEARS. I am supposed to get a discount for uber driving. I followed instructions from uber to get to my portal. Turbotax made me sign into my account and then never gave me the discount. Extremely frustrating. I've been furious with this way of filing for years and I will likely see a professional or use ANY other service from now on. I hate it.
