Rated 2 out of 5 by from TurboTax is a little better than garbage. A little Have used it several times over the years as it does make things fairly easy. What I despise is how they advertise "free," yet it has never actually been free. I've researched in the past and from what I remember if you do happen to qualify for the absolute most basic tax filing, then it may be free, if you don't exhaust yourself jumping through hoops and wild goose chasing to find out how to not get charged. TurboTax is NOT free for the average person. This year I had to enter some info regarding cryptocurrency sales and was disappointed to find that I had to upgrade to their Premium service to do so. And even after paying for the Premium, the max amount of transactions you can enter is 75... which is not a lot if you're trading. If you happen to have more than 75 transactions, then their system won't handle it and you have to go pay for a 3rd party aggregator service (roughly $50-$200 additional) just so you can upload your transactions that they won't allow you to manually enter. If you have 75 or less transactions, the more you add, the slower their system gets. This is not a computer issue as I tried it on different computers and networks. So then you end up waiting around 15-30 seconds between each and every click you make... there are about 5 clicks per transaction, this was extremely frustrating. What should've taken 10 minutes to key in took several hours. Oh, and because it takes so long, the system logs you out after a while, but doesn't tell you. So when you think you finally finished, guess what? You didn't, because it logged you out, and didn't save anything you just entered. So then you get to start all over again! 2nd time around I'd exit that page after a few transactions were keyed so I wouldn't lose them again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from last year to use this our taxes have become more complicated over the years. My ad-blocker has to be turned off to submit this review which is ridiculous. I am tired of Intuit lobbying for complex tax codes and will need a tax accountant to help with future returns.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I use it, but it has some annoying quirks Two quirks that I wish TurboTax would fix: 1) I'm a clergyman who gets a housing allowance. TurboTax doesn't make it easy to find where to put this information. One would think it's in either the "business income" or "personal income" section, but no, it's not there. You have to go to "business information" and enter the code for ministerial work -- 813000. When you do that, a box pops up where you enter the housing allowance. If you need to later adjust this figure, you have to remember to go back to that same place, even though the "business information" isn't changing; you have to type in that same 813000 number again to get that box back. Not at all intuitive. 2) Why doesn't TurboTax allow you to do any arithmetic within the application? Sometimes you have several numbers to add together, but you can't do that in TurboTax. You have to open the calculator separately, then copy and paste the result into TurboTax. Quicken, which used to be an Intuit product, allows you to do arithmetic right within the application. Why doesn't TurboTax?
