Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't bother if you have a K-1 sale Terribly frustrating with regards to K-1 for USO fund. I had sold my share in the USO (United States Oil fund) and it was nearly impossible to get Turbo Tax to do the right thing. Even after I got all the number entered manually, TT refused to file the 1040 because it couldn't reconcile a 0 dollar royalty with a Schedule E. Ughh.... worst tax year ever.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1095 Health Insurance Problem for Self Employed I like Turbo Tax but they need to work on the how Health Insurance Marketplace form 1095 is handled. As a self employed person I don't know my income when I apply for insurance in the exchange and I choose no subsidy. In order to choose that I pick an income above the subsidy level. They send me a 1095 with zeros in column B. If my income ends up below a certain level you are due a subsidy tax credit. Turbo Tax tells you to enter what is in the form. If I enter 0 which is what my form says, it fails to notice that my income qualifies for a subsidy and even worse tells me that I don't qualify when I do. I knew I did and then looked up on the marketplace website the right numbers for column B had I known my income in advance and entered those numbers and THEN Turbo Tax did the correct reconcilliation form 8962 but it only does this if I don't follow Turbo Tax's instructions and input a number that is different than the zeros on my 1095. Turbo Tax should tell you -HEY YOU QUALIFY FOR A SUBSIDY BASED ON YOUR INCOME OR AT LEAST TELL YOU TO DOUBLE CHECK. I mean that is why I pay for it versus using paper forms!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TurboTax USED TO BE awesome. This tax year was very disappointing when it came to using TurboTax. I've depended on the TurboTax Deluxe edition for nearly 10 years. Annually, I purchased a CD version from a local business (Costco) that came with a free Federal filing and also a discounted price on the software purchase through Costco. This year the TurboTax CD downloaded and installed on my computer successfully, but the application would not allow me to enter the Authorization Code. I reinstalled and re-tried the software several times but it would not work. I tried a chat, spoke to a real person from Intuit, and Googled the internet for help. I tried the given suggestions but none worked. Out of frustration I returned the CD to Costco and then went onto Intuit to file my Federal and State returns. Intuit did not reveal the price to pay for the use of their website to file. I ended up paying over twice as much to file my taxes this year. Very frustrating and disappointing experience. TurboTax WAS awesome. Not anymore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbotax fan Turbotax gives great explanations and I love the prompts asking me if I'd like it explained. I hope the next step for Turbotax is providing a routing number and all documents could be sent electronically straight to your turbotax account and we didn't have to collect the forms and documents. Agencies, employers, banks, etc could provide the information and cut out the collection of physical documents and having to mail them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from keeps costing more and more and more frustrating I cant believe how much harder it keeps getting to use your software. I have only used tubotax for the last 4 or 5 years , but yet you couldn't find my info to confirm my identity. i just moved so finding all my info sucked. Plus i started filling out my property tax info and relished i had not unpacked the info i needed. i decided to wait until later to finish this. everything i tried would not work. you said i could bypass it but yet would not let me efile until i did. its almost 4 in the morning I'm tired and probably not making much sense. it all just sucked and i had to pay more. go figure
