Rated 3 out of 5 by from e-file PIN Fail Still Not Fixed since last year Since a main reason to buy this stuff is to efile instead of printing 50 pages and mailing, I subtract two stars from otherwise helpful sw. If the PIN has to be fixed, the UI provides no way to do it. Community question a year ago was answered only as to AGI not PIN. PIN answer in April 2022 is only for online web app not downloaded exe app. The UI did not offer any opportunity to reenter the PIN on my second try, even though it has the rejection relating pin and agi, and agi matches the previous year. The community answers are devoid of help on this topic, or even to explain if it's not possible so I wouldn't have wasted time trying and writing this review. I'm probably printing and mailing again. Now, is it possible to get the refund for the failed state e-file?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed This year I had a terrible experience. I had an error message that I could not e-file my return because a form was not attached, Form 7203. I could not figure out how to get it attached so I had to "mail" my Federal Return. I had already paid to e-file my State return, but could not get my State Return to e-file without the Federal Return. I wasn't expecting these issues. The return was complete with no errors and when ready to file all of these issues arose which took a lot of my time. Now I have to go the post office to mail the returns AND I have to request a refund for the $25 fee to electronically file the State Return. It should not be so difficult to electronically file a return and when difficulties like this arise, there should be "LIVE" help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Forced to redo taxes due to system glitch Per discussion with service desk, I had to redo my taxes all over again due to a known problematic TurboTax system glitch that erased all my saved tax information. I am really dissatisfied right now, considering no longer using TurboTax products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TurboTax Works Well Our tax situation is not to complicated so using the Deluxe version CD is really fairly easy to follow and steps you through all the tax related areas. My only issue was the charity section. In the past versions my tax donation charities i donated to would show up in the new year's version so i could just modify the amount or delete the charity if needed. For some reason in 2021 this didn't happen so i had to re-input all those charities i donated to. Time consuming! Other than that, i had no issues and it was straight forward to use. I recommend it and will use it again next year

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did not expect such a complete tax service I always approached Turbo Tax as "meh". But tonight with the help that I got online , on the phone, and a live person (his name is Amit in Arizona) completely changed my mind about using Turbo Tax. It was a positive experience. Will be using it again for the 2022 tax season.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from After 20 years, my first bad experience I have used Turbotax for about 20 years with outstanding results. This year I had some issues. I received an error message for correctly filled in "Joint return contribution" of $328 in the 1040-sr, line 12b, cash contribution line. Up to $600 is allowed for joint returns that use the standard deduction. I continued without reducing the contribution. I received an error message after correcting Turbotax Form 8995 inputs. Turbotax included both my "wife's and my" partnership K-1s in Line 1 but used the total loss represented by both K-1 next to each K-1 entry, effectively doubling the loss carry forward. In last years return, the 8995 included the correct (1/2 of the total loss) for each K-1, which was the amount shown on Line 1 of each K-1. I received an error after deleting a deduction entry in line 2"o" of the medical worksheet, wherein Turbotax input medical insurance expenses that had already been entered into various other lines. The duplication increased our total deduction and caused the software to suggest we should use Schedule A instead of the standard deduction. Turbotax did not correctly transfer the estimated tax payment shown on our 4868, request for extension, into the various places it is used in the worksheets. Instead it included the "extension payment amount" we paid when we requested an extension in April of 2021, for tax year 2020. This caused the Turbotax calculated "taxes due" to be about $500 too low. I followed each entry to the source of the data I found a box marked "A" with an "x" in it, with a note that explained what would happen if I instead checked the box marked "B". I could not find a box labeled "B" on the page. I used the comments option to correct the entry to the actual amount I paid with my request for extension. I continued to receive an error message during the "check" routines prior to filing. After I corrected inputs and ignored incorrect errors, Turbotax would not let me complete the tax return and electronically file. It did not refuse to e-file my returns until after I had paid $25 for e-file of my state return and until after I had authorized the withdrawal of funds from my bank to pay the Fed. I must now file both returns by mail, not knowing if I am duplicating my payment to the Fed. Then, I will request a refund for the state e-file service which was not completed.
