Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Software But Not Perfect I used the Live Self-Employed this year because I wanted some extra guidance for a business situation. The software itself had created a glitch for me by not transferring one of my businesses from 2020 into this year. I was missing important asset information. That's never happened in the many years I've used TurboTax! I had three different help sessions with experts. The first one (by phone) didn't seem to understand my need for guidance and eventually put me on hold, never to return! The second one (chat session) was trying to help, but gave me some sketchy information about a depreciating an asset, and when I went to look for answers within TurboTax, my chat screen went away and I couldn't figure out how to retrieve it ... so that was a loss! The third time is a charm (chat) and the expert was quite knowledgeable and went the extra mile to get my situation resolved in a way that made sense and doesn't make me nervous about signing my return!! The cost this year was $100 more than I paid last year, but I did get the helpful advice and guidance I needed (the 3rd try), so in all it's a win. A personal preparer probably would have cost about the same, but would have had to start from scratch since I've been doing this on Turbo Tax for so many years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely confusing. Errors aren't explained well I used this software last year and it was fine. This year was a nightmare. I kept getting the same errors and then different errors that were not explained very well. I had to call 6 times! I was on hold for 4 1/2 hours during the 6 calls. I was hoping to get a refund but it doesn't appear that will happen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TurboTax is great I really like turbotax. The filing is simple, easy and hassle free. The only disappointment is that the cost keeps going up and there should be a way to change your turbotax product without having to clear the entire return and start over.
