Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unimpressed Filed this as feedback on a support call, too. Support was (just) OK, but can't say I'm impressed with the TurboTax product itself. Several numbers from my brokerage import came across differently than shown on my 1099s, and TurboTax added/represented them in ways that were at best counterintuitive at times. I also own several tax-exempt bonds from multiple states -- the import didn't pick the states up, so I had to figure out how to assign the state info to each (the subject of my support call). When I finally figured it out, it was easy enough to do, but why couldn't the import have picked it up to begin with? Each bond is clearly labeled in my 1099. Lastly, I bought TurboTax through my brokerage (Fidelity) which offered a discount. The ad claimed "As a valued client of Fidelity, you are eligible to file your federal and state taxes at no cost using TurboTax Premier Online, or for $5 using TurboTax Premier desktop download." Yet, when I got to the end, TurboTax charged me $25 (plus state tax) to e-file my state return!! Maybe that's Fidelity's mistake rather than Intuit's, but it was not a pleasant surprise! On the other hand, I do have to agree that TurboTax did at least successfully import my files from Fidelity, which the product I've used for years previously, TaxAct, did not -- so kudos to Intuit for that!
