Rated 1 out of 5 by from Secret fees and repeated questions Turbo Tax doesn't let you know what the fees will be until you've already completed the hour long process. I didn't want to purchase Turbo Tax Premium, and if I had known I was being forced to pay an additional $119, I would have gone with other software. There are also multiple times when the same forms are reviewed multiple times without any indication of why the information is being reviewed again and again and again. We're going with another service next year. Taxes are painful enough without Turbo Tax making it worse.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stop trying to sell me extra stuff Although I think turbo tax is easy enough to do, I am troubled at the continued persistence of trying to sell extra tax guidance that is not needed, for your having the option to pay with refund instead of a credit card for the software as being the default (which cost more), and for using credit karma as being the default (cost more). Additionally the cost has increased approx 29% from last year which is much, much greater than inflation. I will be looking at using alternative software or IRS input itself next year.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Taxes are confusing - this doesn't help I earn a small royalty each year from an assessment that I developed with a colleague about 15 or 20 years ago. When I try to enter that, I am led down a rabbit hole of self employment and business forms that are not relevant. When I completed my taxes this year, I had a 800+ dollar tax bill that seemed a bit high to me. I reviewed my return, did a bit of research, learned that TurboTax had misled me, made some corrections and ended up saving about $250. I realize that the federal tax code is a mess but if you are going to advertise your product as being helpful at least make it so.
