Rated 5 out of 5 by Boatswain60 Great as always I've been using this software for over 20 years. I've done better than a CPA could have done. Especially using the IRS Pubs features have found all I needed for an interesting career. Thanks April 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Countesswuwu Better than Liberty We paid Liberty to do our taxes last year, only to find out they basically used a tax system much like Turbo Tax. THEY ended up asking me questions about filing. So, this year, we were back to TURBO TAX and happy to be back. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by JRocksNYC Couldn't be easier!! Turbo Tax makes life a lot easier around tax time. The step by step instructions ensure anyone can file on their own. With the fees for tax preparation going up each year turbo tax makes it affordable. The option for audit protection and to pay for your preparation using your refund make life easy as pie. THANK YOU TURBO TAX!! April 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by douggieg I had to override one entry: state income paid2013 federal carryover worksheet was incorrect:. it automatically listed 17952 paid with my CA return for 2012. I had to override with the correct amount I paid to CA: $690 April 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 Exhausted Year to year continuity helped. Schedule C remained for some reason, A past reference to a business i have long ended remained and caused constant errors asking for business name and business code.for royalties received. When it was spotted in the California Review, it insisted that I had a LLC and my business needed a name and purpose. I chose to close the program and return to the Federal version, and it asked if I wanted to save the file. I didn't, and the information I had entered since last using the program was deleted. That was my error, but there was no indication that the whole days work would be lost. I did use the 'Turbo Tax community' thereafter, and the first response to the 'closed business' issue suggested that I delete the Schedule C altogether. All went swimmingly thereafter. Finally, the entry for Deductions was tedious. It is logical, I agree, but it is not user-friendly. Someone needs to re-work the module. I would have liked to change the fornt size as well. Maybe there are system-based ways to change that, but I don't know them. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by FIRENZ RECEIVED PERSONAL HELP BY PHONE I've been using Turbo Tax for at least 15+ years. And I hope for another 15!! April 18, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Phil9100 Glitches Detracted From Otherwise Good Tax Softwar After years of using and admiring TurboTax software, I was surprised to find errors occurring in the DVD and downloaded versions of TurboTax Deluxe for 2013. Several simple math computations were wrong. Some entries from the step by step method were placed on the wrong lines of the tax form. Attempts to correct the errors using the forms method were frustrating, but I was eventually able to correct all the errors before printing the final returns. All of this happened after I was unable to even start the program because it turned out I didn't have the latest version of Microsoft's .NET Framework. A patient and skillful phone representative from Intuit TurboTax was able to help me with that problem, and I am grateful for her support. No where is it mentioned by TurboTax, however, that you need this Microsoft update. I still value the TurboTax software. I just hope that next year's version doesn't have glitches. April 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by rtgeb Good Job I'm Military- used to get Premier for free... what's up/ can I get my $59 back? April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Vevamor81 Best Customer Service I called the 800# and spoke with a Tax professional names James. He helped me with my error and together we came to a great result! April 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Scoutmaster249 Too easy or not thorough enough? The 2013 edition of Turbo Tax seemed just a little bit too easy and that made me a little uncomfortable. For instance, our son turned 24 in 2013 and made $3,900 on his own. Turbo Tax alerted us that we can no longer claim him as a "dependent" but we could return to this topic later. That never happened in the review process. Our son lives with us after graduating from college and looking for a job in his chosen field. Turbo Tax should have returned to this topic to explore what should be considered in the future. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wladek When you get older Even though I remember filling in all the final steps, paying for the filing, etc., I found out that my taxes were not filed. There was no notice from TurboTax that my return was not filed, or tha the extension process was not started. Also, my nickname was rejected as being too short. So I had to create a false nickname just to get past the errors generated. April 18, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by WaynesTax Search for Last Year Last year, I downloaded the program. This year, I worked entirely on line. The program didn't work with me to find last year's return. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by BostonPhil Easy To Use TurboTax is easy to use and inexpensive compared to hiring a tax professional, such as a CPA. I have been using it for years and am pleased with the results. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by JDanielson Refund 2013 I recommend this product to anyone. I'll continue to use it and will tell all my family/friends to take advantage of it. Thanks! April 18, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Overcharged30 Overcharged This year my return fees are going to cost me almost $180! And after working on them for 3 days straight to make sure all of the information was properly and correctly entered only to find out that I have to wind up paying $180 for the software. Next year, I'm going back to H & R Block. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Andy80 Simple and fast Love it, been using it for 11 years. April 18, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by MaineBison Never Easy Wish you would sit with real users to find out why TT is so frustrating to use. Too many times you have to go back and forth or over the same things. Error messages are sometimes not accurate. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fathoney Has never failed me! Could not have been any easier! Just review it and you'll agree. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by gld1 Great until I tried to file electronically would not allow electronic filing...now I have to make atrip to p.o. as well as rounding up an envelope and stamps. downloaded all updates, but still wouldn't work...frustrating to say the least!!!!! April 18, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by RichEK Somewhat negative Due to the time required related to the cons above, I wound up finally e-filing my returns around 2 or 3 minutes after midnight of the 15th. The system would not allow me to say to withdraw the funds from my bank account on the 15th because it recognized the time in CDT. So I changed it to the 16th and it submitted. The IRS considered it on time but rejected the return because it said not withdraw funds until the 16th. Now I am likely to get hit with a late filing penalty because of the stupid Turbotax software. That just isn't right. Maybe I'll try H&R Block next year. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by liltpea Due to an unforeseen mistake, I was able to talk to a person, although we were unable to resolve the issue, I was directed into the right places, with thoughtfulness. Thanks a lot. April 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by RR104 Very Buggy This Year Frequently lost info even after saved. Figuring where/how to place intellectual royalty income under Schedule E was a nightmare. April 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by djt2d Finally done While the software is relatively easy to use there are some confusing issues. Also, be prepared to pay fee upon fee for anything other than the most basic of filing. They charge to use your refund to pay for the filing, they charge extra for state filings even with the premier software. Every time I went to do something to file there was another screen asking for more money....uggghhhh! April 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by SouthBayDK Final submission issues I was sure I finished my taxes in early April. But, the debit form my State didn't hit on 4/15 which tipped me off that something was wrong. I had to go back into TT and finish what I thought I already finished on the 18th. I'm not sure why this didn't work the first time, but I may be at risk of a late filing penalty now. If it was my fault, I think TT should have notified me that I have an unfinished/unfiled return! It's not that hard to recognize these things, but I got NOTHING. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by grimmreaper Calmed my nerves and Bonus-Got a refund this year Complicated situations with owning a rental, husband commuting to several workplaces, receiving a K-1 AND a 1099-C this year (yikes!). We are a one income, multiple kid family. Have used TurboTax in the past, tried TaxAct last year and now I'm back! Most important thing - access to reliable, informed help willing to go deeper into a situation. Always helpful in preparing for next year! April 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by wcskjb Improved But Needs Work Latest TurboTax is cleaner and somewhat easier to follow, but still needs design tweaks and an additional reminder near end of federal tax section. 1. On more than one page where there was little other content and plenty of available space, I had to scroll up or down even on my high resolution 21-inch PC monitor to see the "Continue" and "Back" buttons. Someone needs to test each page under various screen resolution options to create every opportunity to see the control buttons without scrolling wherever possible. 2. I pay state estimated taxes every year, and every year I approach the end of by state return and start looking in vain for the place to enter my payment info. The help section referred me back to the deductions and credits section of the federal return, but it would be very helpful to add a screen to the state return section that offers a second chance to enter state-tax payment info. Rated 4 out of 5 by Angelady Not trusting I am so stressed right now, after realizing my money was not taken out to pay my taxes on time due to an error which did not show up when I first e-mailed my taxes or so I thought. Now I will owe a penalty. Had a similar problem last year but at least I sent the money in by mail and had to mail my return in sometime at the end of 2013. April 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by RONinNH TurboTax Rocks The detail involved in each step is easy to understand and very helpful. Going back a second time for review made us realize we had missed an entry and saved over $300! April 18, 2014
