Rated 3 out of 5 by from TurboTax can definitely get better Some of the things did not go well at all. For example my W2 couldnt be electronically imported. For forms that were imported as pdfs, the boxes had to be entered manually and the help was quite ineffective in many places. I also called the Experts as well as CPA but they couldn't address the my queries about certain information to be entered from the W2 and other forms into the boxes. Turbo tax definitely needs to make the self-help more effective as well as look at the Experts being truly effective.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fees and Fees The program is OK. Every year the fees get higher and less is included in "free" option. I understand people have to make money but upfront transparency on what is included what will require an upgrade would be appreciated. I have ONE form that all of a sudden cost me $119 dollars and then you are highly encouraged to just have it taken out of your return. Get to the end and that costs $39. Where was that disclaimer when I was being asked how I wanted to pay that amount earlier? At that point, you're in so deep that you just let your money go. Frustrating.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy for most part I had lots of trouble trying to get help. I got Premier but I guess no on line help, just posting on blog to community. I tried to get to help and only got how to purchase this or that, not really user friendly. If I need help there should be a 1 click to a help center, not a place to purchase turbotax.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works well except can't see forms until you pay I've used TurboTax CD/downloads for the past 20 plus years....decided to do online this year but with some complex tax items, I wanted to look at the 1040, schedules, etc as I filled out as I have in the past with the software app version but found that I could not. Turned out that I can't even view any of the federal or state forms and just TurboTax GUI with its numbers until I finalized my taxes and paid. I understand they don't want people to fill it all out then copy the forms and file by mail without paying, but I can't imagine that many people doing that. The ability to understand what is happening to numbers on each schedule behind the scenes is important to those of us that understand many of the forms. The cost has gotten almost not worth it as it was $247 to use turbotax online with two state e-file. I will be reconsidering using turbotax next year and will at least use the download version should I continue to use in the future.
