The step by step process is great for someone like me, but it was disappointing to find that I had to keep upgrading every time I encountered something new that barely qualified to be reported (i.e., paid medical research that paid pocket change, a pittance of Stash dividends, etc). I had a lot of questions, and the "what's this?" sidebars were, in their way, helpful. I'm still nervous about doing my returns myself (and I'll be even more neurotic next year when I start filing for my up-n-coming side business!) but in all it was far less expensive than an in-person tax preparer who would have taken our entire return in fees. Bright side!
