Rated 2 out of 5 by from Missed the mark this year I usually really like this app. This year the come-ons for upgrades were way too strong. It got irritating, and even confusing. Especially when just trying to get direct deposit, when your line of credit option was the default. Not cool. If you guys are so desperate that you'll keep hustling me like this, I'll go somewhere else.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax Review Wait times for a live representative is way too long. Certain items on the forms are not explained in a simple language for someone to understand what to do. You tech support can not provide answers to these questions either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small Business no probldem! I tired one of the other guys software yesterday and wasted the whole day. turbo took me less than 3 hours to do my small s-corp business taxes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Activation and State Filing Fee payment problems Took two calls to customer support to get TT to activate. The solution that worked was to reduce my display resolution to 800x600 and try again. I purchased TT at Costco on disk and then downloaded TT from the website as my laptop does not have an optical drive. I used the product key code with the disk to eventually activate. changing screen resolution is a very odd way to "fix" activation the problem. Clearly bugs in the software. For the $25 state filing fee the site will not advance to the payment page when I click "continue". Looks I will be making more calls to the support line. The Federal return efiled as expected. Cannot file state until the fee is paid but I am unable, at present , pay the fee due to TT software issues.

What I do find annoying is that charitable contributions are not alphabetized, so I have to go through the whole list to find a specific item. Also, rather than deleting charities to which we haven't given in the year for which we're paying taxes, the program should be able to keep the whole list from year to year, so that if I give again to a charity next year, I don't have to re-enter the info. For some reason, program did not carry forward one of my retirement accounts from last year, so I almost forgot to include the RMD from that source.
