Rated 5 out of 5 by from TurboTax is an Excellent Service TurboTax walks you through the filings in a straight-forward manner. Some of the categories are confusing and could use more explanation, but the overall time to file both Fed and State returns was under 2 hours. The cost is reasonable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Experience EVER with Turbo Tax This is the first time I did not purchase Turbo Tax from Costco, this time I purchased directly from Turbo Tax. What a NIGHTMARE! As I'm working though entering my taxes, I constantly receive a page asking if I want to "upgrade", I felt as though Turbo Tax was hoping the person entering their information would click upgrade by accident and could charge an additional $49. The entire process of entering the information was more complicated than in years past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too easy to do anything else It's so simple even I can do it. Because of that it's so worth not going down to an office and dealing with another person. I can do it myself and it auto-populates everything from last year which saves a TON of time as well. Love it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nickels, Dimes, and Confusion 1) My least favorite product feature of Turbotax is the price. For such a basic service as paying taxes that the IRS could tell me I owe, it seems wild to charge more than a hundred dollars just to do basic federal and state taxes. 2) My second-least favorite feature is that it's a huge pain - some questions ask me about numbers from my previous years' returns (that were all done with TurboTax). Guess what, to get access to previous year's tax returns you have to pay for a higher version of TurboTax. All the API-based auto-fill tools still require manual review and filling in boxes by hand, so what's the point? At the end of the day, filing taxes sucks, and TurboTax may make it slightly easier, but they sure charge you for the pleasure of doing so.
