Rated 3 out of 5 by from Surprise $20 charge at the end is frustrating Overall good but the hidden fee at the very end really pushes the limit of being reasonable. The lack of direction to the no-cost paper filing solution just adds to the frustration. I'll look into an alternative next year just because of this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Had problems with getting the Minnesota return to On schedule M15 line 22 must equal the sum of line 21. Because turbo tax rounds each of the numbers on Line 21 a-d and then totals rather than add Line 21 a-d and then round it causes my return to reject. My line 21 a-d numbers, rounded totaled by turbo tax totaled $34. When I added them individually like the instructions said they totaled $33.08 which meant the numbers was wrong when done by Turbo tax. The support center I called was useless.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not working I have used Turbo Tax for many years, and have never had such a poor experience as this year has been. Screens that I couldn't skip during the mandatory review, even through the help screens said I didn't need to fill in this information (1098 mortgage interest when I am claiming the standard deduction). Not able to view or print my returns - the screen never loads anything! I've let it sit for more than half an hour, cleared browser cache, tried different browser, logged out/logged back in. Nothing worked. The advice from your auto attendant was to contact the IRS to get a copy of my return. Well isn't that what I just paid you for? And the cherry on top? Waiting until I had slogged my way through all the questions, and only at the very end, springing it on me that I couldn't use the product version I had been using all along?!? As if there were no other opportunities during the data entry process where you could have flagged me that I needed a different product. You got me this year, already too much time invested (which is exactly what you planned for with your upgrade timing, right?) but I won't be using your product again next year. Nice job Turbo Tax!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Federal Excellent, State Not So Good Because the program transferred the Adjusted Gross Income from my Federal Return to the State Return, it didn't pick up the fact that a sizeable portion of my income, that being my state pension as a retired state employee, is not taxable for my states' income tax purposes. I couldn't find a way to edit this so I am filing directly with my state, and saving two-thirds of Turbo's calculated state income tax for me!
