Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly good As a foreign resident with a salary from a foreign entity and self-employment income, I was told to fill out a form (Schedule C of form...?) but was then not able to click on the form to fill it in! Finally, a Turbotax representative said I should simply not declare my small self-employed income as it was foreign income and did not take me over the foreign earned income exclusion limit. So, I deleted my self-employment form but simply added the $876 to my total foreign income. I hope that was correct. Turbotax did not help me in figuring it out besides the representative's guess that I should simply not file the self-employment form.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fatal Flaw in electronic filing option Everything was A+ until I paid and tried to file electronically. SW kept telling me I had to double click on a form selection in the 1099K review which when I did it didn't react. I was told I have to file by mail. There seemed to be no option to address this problem without paying extra for 'xpert advice'. This alone makes me question using Turbotax again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent...Except for Missing Guidance in Filing Completing the corporate returns was easy as usual. The major frustration was in filing! The Federal 1120S was e-filed with no problems. But there was no guidance for filing the IL State return! I called but they couldn't help - while on the phone I went back to the tab "File Return" and clicked the button to print and file the state return by mail. Seems to me that TT, after e-filing the Fed return, should have informed me that the state return couldn't be e-filed and I need to file by mail. Very frustrating! I've used TT business to file my 1120S returns for several years now - the "easy step" guidance was always very comprehensive and didn't leave you wondering. It seemed to know what you had and had not completed. That was not the case this year. Very disappointed.

I have used TT for many years but in recent years have had problems with the depreciation of a sailboat that is in the charter business. TT on line does not allow for an 18 year depreciation. 18 years is correct and acknowledged to be so by TT but the on line version does not accept it. So, I have to use the downloaded version. BUT the down loaded version does not work with Chromebook. There may be good reasons for that but it creates difficulties. I hope TT can fix the issue with depreciation in the on line version. This year I used the downloaded version. I had difficulties again with the depreciation of the sailboat asset. TT could not calculate it correctly. It is a very simple calculation. I spent hours trying to figure out the error and finally gave up; went to the forms and overrode the TT erronously calculated depreciation figure. Following TT´s calculation would have cost me several thousand $$$. PLEASE fix this!!!!!!!
