Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even Clergy Can Use It! As a (semi) retired minister, taxes are complicated. I've been filing using TurboTax Home and Business for decades. The only problem I have had was entering my pension information from a 1099-R so that it showed up as non-taxable (because it was excludable as housing allowance under IRS rules). The Church Pension Fund tax consultant for retired clergy solved that over the phone in five minutes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax customer service phone tree is TERRIBLE I have used turbo tax for a number of years and it has been ok. I dislike that they say free state tax when you purchase it and then they want to charge you $25 to e-file it. It doesn't make it easy to print it off to mail it. I called customer service from their listing. I go their phone tree and it was TERRIBLE. I had to call it back and try again.

I have always done my taxes with H&R Block but they have been getting pretty expensive as well so I decided to try TurboTax claiming it was "free". So of course I was just skipping and not upgrading it but towards the end I HAD to upgrade in order for me to submit my taxes which is crazy to me! even after I refused my credit that I was supposed to get if I upgraded I still ended up having to upgrade and never did I see my credit go up. Just very disappointing that no matter what I still have to pay almost $200 to do my taxes.
