Rated 3 out of 5 by from Latest version is poor. This latest version of TurboTax is not simple to follow. In the past I have done two of my son's taxes without having to create a new account. To do so was confusing and it took me an inordinate about of time to complete the second tax return.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Habit I Can't Break I'm always confused and unhappy with TurboTax, with things that make no sense, like credits that come and go with incomprehensible explanations. But then I think maybe that's the tax board and not the preparation software. At any rate, I've never been audited, though I buy the defense product too, just in case. I'm too used to it and relieved by that to switch to any of the TT competitors that have cropped up, including the old dog H & R Block and the good ole IRS itself. The cost has become so dear (about 4 times what it was when I first started with it) that I can experiment to compare. So, not what you want to hear, "an *unmitigated* awesome," but a decades-long habit by now.
