Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the easiest sites to use! I love using TurboTax each year. It's one of the easiest websites I've ever used. My taxes aren't easy since I own a number of rental properties and have self-employment income. TurboTax walks me through each step and provides help along the way if I get confused about what to enter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TurboTax is Misleading! TurboTax says the free version is only for simple tax returns and that is a fine statement to make. However it is misleading on just what a simple tax return is. A person can have only their manually inputted W-2 and 1099, and will think that their return will be a simple return. However, as soon as they qualify for a tax credit of any kind they are forced to upgrade to the Deluxe version with no option to not claim the tax credit and keep going with the free version. TurboTax! Get your act together. Either explain upfront what constitutes a simple tax return, or allow people to not claim something that forces them to pay for a service they thought they were getting for free.

There are helpful hints along the way that help keep your mind at ease. I've told my sister about Turbo Tax and she's going to try it this year. Told friends, too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Turbo Tax Help I'd like to give a mostly positive review - the questions I had and why I alway have tax professionals do my taxes is that I did not want to figure out the depreciation on rentals myself... The advice given helped me to successfully transition to doing the taxes myself. The only down side is I did have a special circumstance where I did not take depreciation early on in the life of my first rental - this cost me about $1700 in depreciation - because the program could not handle it...
