Rated 4 out of 5 by from STILL GOOD - BUT GETTING MORE COMPLEX EACH YEAR I've loved TurboTax over the years. It is fast and easy, in part because the program recalls information from prior years. The number of add-on services has become a nuisance and even confusing. TurboTax tries to upsell several services (eg tax advice) at the outset and then also near the end of completing taxes. I was particularly disappointed this year when I subscribed for MaxDefend against Identify Theft. I paid for the service. Then prior to submitting the tax returns I was asked to submit personal information (SSN, date of birth, etc) to a third party who will provide ID theft services. When I tried to decline sharing information, I received a prompt that I had already paid for the service so in effect I would have paid for nothing if I was unwilling to share this sensitive information. The irony of sharing valuable personal information to defend against ID theft seems to be lost on TurboTax. This prompt for consent should appear prior to checking out to pay for MaxDefend, please.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Support for Simpler System Apple would not support the 9 year old Mac OS nor does Apple support simpler tax systems. Apple supports congress to keep this complex tax process to ensure Apples bottom line which is extremely healthy already. Apple also keeps grabbing more and more personal data which they too will lose/use for gain. When is enough enough?
